Marine litter is altering the balance
of sophisticated ecosystems.
Ultimately leading to the loss
of precious biodiversity.

The well-being of this vital natural resource–the ocean–is intrinsically intertwined with life on Earth. That’s why we decided to create a community-driven platform that facilitates the connection between people and the fishermen who do the hard work of cleaning it up.
Facts on Ocean’s health

Every year twelve million metric tons of plastic are dumped in the ocean each year.

What’s the cause?
Decades of environmental damage are swiftly catching up to the ocean’s health.
Entire marine ecosystems are changing and perishing due to toxic human activity on land.
Our neglectful actions are speeding up global warming and subsequently affecting the ocean’s chemistry; increased water temperature and an altered PH balance are making it hard for marine life to thrive.

A healthy ocean means a better future

Oxygen production
45% of the oxygen we breathe is produced by the ocean, therefore a healthy ocean means better air quality.

CO2 reduction
The ocean swallows up and processes 30% of global carbon emissions, therefore it is our number one ally in the fight against climate change.

Food sovereignty
Three billion people rely on fish as their main source of protein. In developing countries, fishing is an integral part of the economy. Without a healthy marine ecosystem, the livelihoods of coastal communities are at stake.
Together we can make waves.
